Next, Victoria Centre, Harrogate

Built in 1991, the Victoria Centre in Harrogate has been subject to continuous adaptions to accommodate the ever-changing High Street retailer’s demands. Most recently, NEXT are to relocate to the centre’s Cambridge Street / Market Place corner.  

Major envelope works were completed by Unite to accommodate the modern structural glazing frontage and enhanced natural light needs of the retailer.  

The removal of existing high-level blockwork and low-level timber shopfronts was closely managed to ensure that the town centre shoppers were not affected by both noise and dust. Attention was particularly focused during the internal reinforced structural slab removal; creating the much needed light wells within the retail space.
