Host Student Accommodation, housing 360 students, in the University district of Liverpool.   

Unite were commissioned by Blackrock to take the scheme from inception through design approvals and then delivered on site.  

The works included a mixture of ACM (300m2) and a brick bonded slip system (3,600m2) required to be replaced with a new, fire compliant rainscreen solution. Combustible materials, lack of cavity barriers and non-compliant materials above 18metres, led to the full façade replacement.  

We brought together a team of specialists to address the failing issues. Wintech Cladding Consultants and OFR Fire were key to addressing the compliancy of the new installation, whilst our Architects, Loroc, worked with us to achieve the aspirations of the planners and the workable design on site.  

With live retail units on the ground floor and a fully occupied student complex on the other 9 floors, close communication, site logistics and public protection were paramount to the success of the project.
