Victoria Centre, Harrogate
Coal Pension Properties Ltd
Jct 2016 design and build
Built in 1991, the Victoria Centre in Harrogate has been subject to continuous adaptions to accommodate the ever-changing High Street retailer’s demands. Most recently, NEXT are to relocate to the centre’s Cambridge Street / Market Place corner.
Major envelope works have been started by Unite to accommodate the modern structural glazing frontage and enhanced natural light needs of the retailer.
The removal of existing high-level blockwork and low-level timber shopfronts has been closely managed to ensure that the town centre shoppers have not been affected by both noise and dust. Attentions were particularly focused during the internal reinforced structural slab removal; creating the much needed light wells within the retail space.
Works were completed on programme to allow NEXT to trade from December 2018.
Phase 2 of the redevelopment works were completed March 2019.
